EnterTech learners historically do not perform well on traditional tests. Yet EnterTech's curriculum emphasizes authentic assessment. So, activities being assessed reflect realistic tasks, such as work-related situations rather than multiple-choice questions. EnterTech believes that an important aspect of authentic assessment is the direct application of knowledge to real world experiences.
The Leveling System for a Performance Objective |
|
| Level 3 | SAY IT. Learner is able to state, describe, or explain procedures and concepts. |
| Level 4 | DO IT. Learner is able to correctly perform tasks without significant help from others. |
| Level 5 | USE IT. Learner is able to integrate skills to solve novel problems. |
Upon completing the program each learner receives four Certificates of Accomplishment containing the seal of the University of Texas at Austin from ELT Labs, creators of the EnterTech program; a personalized skills transcript, and a work portfolio. The skills transcript (below) lists the activities and learning modules completed. It shows learner performance in terms that are meaningful to employers.
The portfolio includes employability forms and samples of individual and group work. This combination of documentation is usable for many different jobs, industries, and communities. It provides a credible and portable skills profile for each learner. The transcript portrays the learner's knowledge, skills, and abilities emphasizing the learner's readiness to learn job specifics from an employer.
